What We Do

'Aid Direct' - Humanitarian & Medical Aid

Aid Direct Image Through 'Aid Direct' one of CCPI's new programmes, the charity delivers humanitarian and medical aid to orphanages, institutions and Day Care Centres throughout the Chernobyl regions. CCPI delivers aid directly into the hands of the people who need it most. In developing this new programme, CCPI has moved away from an old-style donor versus recipient model to one that is about partnership, giving people a say in how they want their dying communities to come to life. To date, the charity has delivered €70 million worth of direct and indirect medical and humanitarian aid to Belarus, Northern Ukraine and Western Russia.

'Aid Direct' - The Benefits

  • Cost effective
  • Deliveries direct to users and beneficiaries
  • Regularity of supply
  • Fosters partnership
  • Most appropriate method of delivery
  • Offers dignity and pride to recipients

Already this year, CCPI has spent more than €500,000 on 'Aid Direct'. On a monthly basis, we deliver exactly what is needed to all recipients and the money saved from the traditional annual convoys goes to those who are most deserving. CCPI sources and purchases food and essential items in-country, contributing hugely to the local economy and generating income and employment. We are now the largest sole purchaser of aid in Belarus. Through the change in our philosophy and the development of this programme, CCPI can give security of income and dignity and pride back to people. We now ask people what they want, rather than giving them what we think they need.
